>> With the state of California coming under an uncharacteristic month of monsoon-esque rain, many on the West Coast were afraid that the sequel to the season opener would be one of murky waters and a stadium full of sludge, rather than optimal conditions for a Supercross event. However, with the steady work of the Feld Track crew, and few scoops of Turface Quick Dry, the grounds were quickly ready to be devoured by a sea of destroyers we all know as AMA Supercross contenders. From the moment the gate dropped, Bowers had the look in his eye of a competitor ready to blister the field, and absolutely obliterate anyone that stepped into his path on a quest for glory. A top ten start set the Kentucky na- tive up for a well-received main event if he could just fit the pieces together. Quickly overtaking Killian Auberson, he spied the like of Josh Hansen, and Dan Reardon, who sat just in front. The brutus of the 250 division, Bowers demolished each obstacle in his sight; the whoops were plowed through, each double and triple soaked up with the mass of legs and frame. He began to climb and hold strong; and once he had achieved the advancement into eighth place position, the veteran was persistent in clicking off continually solid laps. Those laps would blossom into a fruition of an eighth place finish, something he could hang his head on, and look to rebuild off of in the weeks to come.
