Each weekend Zach Osborne gets closer and closer to grab- bing his first 250 SX Main Event win. Starting off the day riding a blistering pace in practice, Zach would clock the fastest lap time in qualifying just edging out the defending champion Cooper Webb, and set high expectations for the night. With out a doubt
a confidence booster, but more importantly earning first gate pick. This would be crucial with a very difficult right hand first turn. After a chaotic start to the heat race, Zach would work his way through the pack crossing the finish in 3rd place. With Zach beating Cooper Webb straight up in practice and Geico Honda’s Christian Craig beating Webb straight up in the heat race, the 250 Main Event was sure to be a good one. And that it was. Christian Craig would grab the holeshot and put down solid laps leading more than half the race. Just when it seemed Webb would finally be beaten, “The big bad wolf” would hunt down each rider one by one and eventually start applying the pressure to Craig. While Webb and Craig played cat and mouse a bit (passing each other multiple times) Osborne was inching closer each lap and would make
it a three rider battle for the win. Making the decision mid race to jump the massive-unpredictable whoop sections instead of risking making a costly mistake, Zach dug deep and made the pass on Craig securing a 2nd place finish. Moving up to second place in points and earning his best result of the season, Zach looks to be Cooper Webb’s main competition for the 250 West Coast SX title.
