Eli Tomac didn’t get the start on Ken Roczen he was hoping for in moto one, sitting back around sixth place, while Roczen was up front. Just five minutes into the race he passed Bloss and Short, moving himself into fourth chasing down Nicoletti for third. Able to get the pass on Nicoletti he then began to
chase down Pourcel. Holding down third place, Pourcel began to pull away a little bit. Now with only three minutes left of the race he closed that gap and was putting the pressure on Pourcel. Tomac was charging hard on every possible different line he could take hoping to get that pass. Getting a huge drive around the outside of a turn he passes Pourcel for second place. It took him a minute to warm up in that moto but he came away with a second place. In moto two he got a good start still behind the guy he wants to beat, but a lot closer sitting in third. He began to chase down Musquin he was in second in front of him.
