Marvin Musquin carried last weekends confidence into the motos today at Washougal. Not getting the best start he could he was still in a good position right around eighth place behind his teammate Dean Wilson. Pulling the trigger he moved into fourth place very smoothly. Passing veterans of the class like it was easy. Now running in fourth place the Red Bull / KTM rider began charging after Tomac. Right around sixteen minutes left of the moto he was battling with Tomac and made a mistake causing him to go down. Luckily he picked himself up quickly and got back to racing before losing any positions. With just a minute
to go on the clock Pourcel went down, moving Musquin up another spot into third place. Staying strong for the remainder of the moto he finished it out in third. Moto two Musquin jumped out of the gate and put himself right into first place. Utiliz- ing the entire track he was making it as hard as possible for Roczen to get by. His technique of riding wide didn’t hold off the points leader very long and he got passed and put into second. Next came Tomac putting the pressure on. Musquin tried really hard to hold his own, but Tomac was on fire looking for that moto win. Now back in third place the Red Bull KTM rider didn’t want to lose any more positions. Trying not to let the gap get too big between him and the leaders Musquin was riding very consistent. He finished off the moto in third place. Going third in moto one and third moto two he got a third overall for the day. Not the place he was hoping to be, but better then not being on the podium.
