COLE MARTINEZ
Looking at the list of entries for this weekend’s Washougal National, its quick to note the amount of riders who aren’t choosing to line up. Injuries? Yeah, the usual. Bike failure? Probably not the case. Stomach Bug? Yes, that may exactly be the issue, as the Chipotle nearest the track has been bombarded with riders and crew alike since the industry’s arrival earlier this week. However, a coincidence can be found when examining the situation closer; one of the first to sign his name on the entry sheet this week was Yamaha’s Cole Martinez, a young man who also can be found cooking up some of the tastiest Mexican cuisine, due to his Spanish roots. Many are thinking sabotage, but then again, is there a need? Rimrock, Arizona’s Martinez has been putting in spectacular results thus far, without the need of any asterisk’s or handicaps to his competitors. Coming into to Washougal, Martinez looks to shut the speculation up, and earn yet another solid finish in the outdoor series.
