Christophe seemed to like the track as he characteristically qualified inside the top five going into the racing. In the first 450 moto, He got off to a great start and was running 3rd early on. He was quickly passed by Roczen but looked to settle in to 4th place. Christophe then began an intense battle with veteran Andrew Short for 3rd. Christophe secured the spot and was now trying to catch 2nd place in
front of him. Christophe was feeling it at Washougal as he caught and passed Nicoletti for 2nd place. Pourcel had the leader
in sight and had an equal gap over third place Tomac. Christope kept his pace up and managed to hold down 2nd place through the midway point of the race. He began to turn up the pace and started pulling away from Tomac. With just three laps remaining, Tomac had caught him. Christophe was feeling the pressure but was able to hold him off for another lap. Tomac finally demanded the spot and Pourcel looked to settle into 3rd place, that is, until disaster struck. Christophe scrubbed a tall single but his feet were taken off the pegs and he went flying superman style into the Washington dirt. Christophe would pull off and his race would be
cut short. Miraculously enough, Christophe took the time between motos and was able to recover from the insane crash. In the second moto, a very sore Christophe got off to a decent start and was running 12th in the opening laps. Christophe began slicing and dicing through the pack and was sitting an incredible 7th as they neared the halfway point. Pourcel began to creep up on Short who was sitting 6th. Christophe would make the pass and hold on all the way to the finish. He would take home 13th overall from 37-6 finishes in the motos.
