Justin Barcia was ready to keep his top five streak alive going into Washougal. He looked fast and practice
and managed to come away with 6th gate pick for the moto. When the gate dropped, Justin was pulled
hard off the line and was buried in the pack coming through the first turn. After a few minutes, Justin had made
his way into the top twenty and had his work cut out for him if he wanted to make it to the top five. By the midway point, Barcia
had climbed into the top fifteen. With three laps to go, Barcia had only made it up to 11th and was doing everything he could to
make another pass. Then with a spectacular crash by 2nd place rider, Pourcel, Justin easily slid into 10th place. He would take a respectable 10th and go on to the next race hoping for a little better start. When 450 moto two began, Justin got off to a similar start and was buried in the pack. As they went up horsepower hill, somehow Barcia was pushed off the side of the track and suddenly looked to be near the top five. With twenty minutes left on the timer, Justin began to catch Wilson who was sitting in 4th. They put
on an intense battle and Barcia finally sealed the deal with a little contact on Wilson’s front wheel in a berm. Barcia rode a quiet race after that up until there was about five minutes left on the clock. His teammate, Peick, started to pressure Justin and would eventually make the pass. Barcia was now back in 5th. As the laps grew to a close, Barcia decided he was not going to let his teammate beat him. He stepped it up a notch and passed him back to take a 4th by the time the checkers flew. He would take home 5th overall at Washougal and keep his top five streak alive. .
