“Nicky was a guy that always worked hard and I think being around
just raised my level that much more, ‘cause you knew even if it was gon- na be an easy day for him, he was still gonna hammer. I think I learned a lot from being around him and his whole family -- just how hard you have to work when you wanna chase these dreams. It helped me a lot, because even if you’re having a day where you’re not feeling fast on the bike
or something, he was still gonna be pushin’ just
as hard, so you had to figure out how to do that. When you’re at a race weekend, if you don’t feel good or the bike doesn’t feel good, you still gotta push. Also, he just lis- tened so well -- he want- ed to know a lot about what was going on here at the races, and if you had a question, he had so much knowledge that he was always willing to
