pole position time with a 2:35.605, placing him at the head of the
second row to start the race. As the lights went out on to signify the
start of the first race, Beach sprinted away at the head of the pack
The two Factory Yamaha riders set a blistering pace at the front of the field, lapping almost four seconds faster than any of the riders behind them. Beach was one of many
riders that decided to contest the race on a wet set up, providing him an advantage in the early stages of the race. He stayed within striking distance of Gerloff for the opening half of the race, but the pace of his teammate was a little bit too much and the twenty-five year old made the decision to settle for second place, dropping back a couple of seconds by the time the checkered flag was flown. Beach was out for redemption in the second race as he stole the lead away from his teammate in the opening corner, commanding the race with authority. The #95 laid down an exceptionally fast lap the first time around the four mile circuit, building himself a decent gap ahead of Gerloff and Debise in second and third. He did his
best to hit his marks throughout the first half of the race, but Gerloff was closing the gap inch by inch, lap by lap. The two of them became intertwined in a hotly contested battle for the second half
of the race, but Beach remained steadfast as he held the lead. He held an advantage on the drive out of the corners which allowed him to take away any opportunity Gerloff may have had of passing him on the brakes, forcing him to rely on the slipstream to make his move. Beach was also incredibly strong on the brakes heading into turn five, using his flat tracking skills to back his YZF-R6 into the tight left hander in an attempt to steal the line away from his team- mate. The two of them were side-by-side on the final lap as they approached the grandstand on the outside of turn five, providing the crowd with quite the show as they careened through the corner with their fairings rubbing together. Beach came out ahead of Gerloff and maintained the advantage all the way until the checkered flag, clinching his third victory of the season in the process.
