>> Trader’s Racing/ Yamaha rider, Luke Renzland showed everyone what great racing is all about this weekend in Michigan. After a thir- teenth place overall finish last weekend at Muddy Creek, this rider out of New Jersey had to have been hungry for a top ten as he lined up at Redbud. The thirty-second card was high, the bikes were loud, and the fans were louder. Unfortunately for the number 50 machine, he found himself in the thirty-ninth spot off the start. Renzland had a lot of work ahead of himself if he wanted to gain some positions and he was up for the challenge. By the halfway point of the race, Luke Renzland was in the twenty-sixth place spot and still pushing onward and upward. The late moto conditions did not effect Renzland’s passing performance
as he moved all the way up to the twentieth place spot by the time the checkered flag flew. After gaining a very impressive nineteen positions, Renzland would be a force to be reckoned with if he grabbed the right kind of start. The second moto was the perfect opportunity for Luke Renzland as some front of the pack mishaps allowed him to fly out of the first corner in the third place spot. Renzland held onto his incred- ible third place all the way through the first half of the moto. During the second half of the race, he may have lost a couple positions to some intense competitors on a rough track, but Renzland showed true grit and displayed an incredibly story of redemption as he crossed the finish line in sixth place. With a 20-6, Luke left Redbuuud with a fourteenth place overall finish. A great ride by Renzland, hopefully he can continue to carry this fire throughout the rest of the season.
