the pace to go away with the leading group. Shortly thereafter, a dogfight for the Superstock 1000 victory broke
out between himself, Mathew Scholtz, and Jake Lewis as the three of them were glued fender-to-fender for the
first ten laps. Fong and Scholtz were able to break away from Lewis just past the halfway point as they became
engulfed in their own battle for the victory.

Things began to heat up with only a handful of laps to go and Fong was forced to make way for the Westby Racing Yamaha of Scholtz. He tagged onto the tail-end of the South African,
but just came up short of launching a final attack, placing him in seventh overall and second in the Superstock 1000 class as the race came to an end. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned in Sunday’s race. Fong com- manded sixth position in the early laps and attempted to keep in touch with the top five, but an incident on the brakes heading into the turn ten chicane sent him sliding through the gravel trap, forcing him out of contention for the remainder of the race. Nonetheless, he continually proved himself as a frontrunner in the Superstock 1000 class and he’ll be raring to go as the action kicks off at VIR for round three of the series.
