HAIDEN DEEGAN
The young rider out of Temecula established himself as the man to beat in the 65cc (10-11) class as well
as the 65cc Open class, showcasing incredible speed on the first day in the mountains. The morning glow
Danger Boy laid down an exceptional ride in the (10 - 11) class in order to hunt down a podium finish, making his way forward from a start well outside the top twenty. The Orange Brigade KTM rider encountered some adversity on the first lap, but he was able to climb back to twentieth position as he came across the stripe for the first time. He put his head down and went on a charge towards the front, picking up fifteen positions in just three laps while setting the fastest lap of the moto in the process. On the last lap, he fought his way onto the podium in a heroic showing of grit and determination, putting in one of the best rides of the week thus far. It was a completely opposite turn of events in the Open class as Deegan pulled the holeshot and never looked back, setting the fastest lap of the race on his first attempt as he disappeared into the immaculate mountains to clinch his second championship.
of sunshine marked the beginning of the heat races and Deegan was completely dominant in both of his
classes, making a statement to his competitors with a pair of first place finishes heading into the cham-
pionship motos.
