Vohland entered the Mini Sr. 1 class as well as the Mini Sr. 2 class with his sights set on capturing a couple of bears for the mantle
at home. The Team Dunlop Elite rider took the victory in his Mini Sr. 2 heat race, but he was forced to over- come a bit of adversity after struggling with a twenty-eighth place fin- ish in his Mini Sr. 1 hea race. He bounced back and took the win in the semi qualifier, earn- ing him a spot in both championship motos. The youngster out of California didn’t get the best jump off the line
in the Mini Sr. 1 main event, wavering back in eighth position in
the early stages of the moto. Vohland showed his speed and deter- mination as he picked up the pace at the>>

rides at the Cal Classic
a couple of months ago.
The young Californian
carried that momentum
into the racing action at Mammoth Moun-
tain where he had the
privilege of sporting the
number one plate after
some success in the
mountains last year.
