Mini Sr. classes yet again. Vohland clinched his spot in both main events with a pair of heat race victories, sending a message to his competitors in the process. In the Mini Sr. 1 class, the KTM rider
shot out of the gate to a solid start and found himself at the front
of the field immediately, working his way up to second place by
the end of the first lap. At that point, he followed the Jett Reynolds for the remainder of the race, but he wasn’t able to close in on his Team Dunlop Elite teammate and he had to settle for second place. It was more of the same in the Mini Sr. 2 class as Vohland rocketed into the first corner with an exceptional jump off the line, securing his spot at the front of the pack with immediate effect. He battled tooth and nail behind the Team Green Kawasaki of Jett Reynolds, but he wasn’t able to hold onto the rear fender of the Kawasaki and he crossed the line in second place at the checkered flag. Vohland will undoubtedly be one of the top contenders heading into the big dance at Loretta Lynn’s this year after an exceptional showing in 2017 thus far.
