RYDER DIFRANCESCO
the line with a solid gap ahead of the remainder of
the pack. DiFrancesco started the week at Mammoth
with some exceptional speed and style on display, as
expected from the Team Green phenom. He continued
to contest the 85cc (9-12) class as well as the Mini Sr. 2
class, aiming to track down his first championship of the
week during the second day of racing.
The Bakersfield, California native put himself in a decent position during
both of his heat races, earning a fourth place in the Mini Sr. 2 class as well as a sixth in the 85cc (9-12) class. DiFrancesco utilized his gate pick in order to grab a solid start in the 85cc class, putting his Dunlop rubber to the ultimate test as he found himself behind his Team Dunlop Elite teammate, Jett Reynolds, in the first corner. The two of them checked out on the rest of the pack, separating themselves from the rest of the field
in a flash, as DiFrancesco firmly held onto the second place finish. In the Mini Sr. 2 class, the Kawasaki rider had another decent jump off of the line, putting himself in top five contention on the opening lap. He settled into fifth position and found himself in a battle with Preston Kilroy on the first two laps, eventually conceding the position and securing fifth place as things chopped
and changed further up the field. DiFrancesco pushed towards the podium, but he wasn’t able to make it happen as he was forced to take a fifth place finish at the checkered flag.
