The Pennsylvania native leapt out of the gate
to a tremendous start, im- mediately rubbing plastics
with Garrett Marchbanks,
as the two established themselves at the front of
the field. The Suzuki rider hung behind Marchbanks
for the first half of the race, eventually coming under pressure from Jo Shimoda and Conner Mullennix on
the penultimate lap. The
three of them participated in
a spirited scrap -- three rid- ers battling for two podium positions -- and Papi fell
back to fourth on the last >> lap. The trio of riders rode
and every moto, providing
him with an opportunity to
fight for the win. In the 250
B class, Papi claimed a
third place in his heat race,
affording him a good gate
pick heading into the main
event.

moth Motocross in Mammoth
Lakes, California. The sixteen
year old has had quite the
successful year thus far, car-
rying titles from the California
Classic and JuniorMotoX into
the race weekend at Mam-
moth.

The aforementioned accolades set him up as one of the suggested favorites in the various B classes when the gate dropped in the mountains, drawing a watchfu eye from the sprawling crowd in attendance. Papi contested the 250 B, 450 B, and Open B classes over the course of the weekend, earning two podium finishes as well as a fourth place. His exceptional starts
