Conner Mullennix has been slowly building consistency and speed throughout the 2017 racing season thus far. The Califor- nian grabbed a couple of top ten finishes at the JS7 Spring Championship, and he also showed some incredible composure at the California Classic to score four overall finishes inside the top ten. The KTM rider was able to transfer that consistency to the fiftieth annual running of Mammoth Motocross in his home state, providing the home crowd with a spectacular show as he earned a trio of podium finishes. Mullennix contested the the 250 B/C Open class, the 250 B class, and the Schoolboy 2 class -- executing impressive performances in all three. In the Open class, the young Californian put together a solid performance in his heat race by earning a second place finish and an advantageous gate pick heading into the main event. He went on
to take advantage of his perfect starting position by launching his KTM into the top five through the first corner, settling into fourth position shortly thereafter. Mullennix kept in touch with the leading trio for the first couple of laps, setting his sights on the podium with immaculate focus.
