He forced his way past Newby on the opening
lap and did his best to close the gap to the front immediately. Luck was on his side as he took advan- tage of a mistake a little bit further up the field, promoting him to third position with Brock Papi a couple of seconds further up the track. The two of them sliced and diced
in the waning stages of the race, but the flying Honda of Jo Shimoda came and spoiled the party. Nonetheless, Mul- lennix was able to hold onto third position and clinch his second podium of the weekend as the race came to an end. The Californian was able to continue his exceptional form in the Schoolboy 2 class by extending his streak of podium finishes. He rocketed out of the gate to one of his best starts of the weekend, fitting into third place right away behind his Orange Brigade teammate, Derek Drake. Mullennix record- ed robotically consistent lap times from flag-to-flag, building a massive gap back to fourth place in
the process, on the way to wrapping up his most impressive ride of the weekend.
