>> Although results account for the overwhelming majority of this sport, and rightfully so, there are other elements that are taken into account which can determine a rider’s longevity; albeit if no seri- ous injuries or lack of motivation is presented on the competitor’s spectrum. The flashiness of each rider’s particular style, as well as the charisma he displays while off the bike, must be taken into af- fect when teams looking at bringing an individual onto their platoon And Jimmy Decotis seems to embody all aspects of what truly make a rider captivate a crowd. For this round of San Diego, the result was no different. After the pin dropped for the first main event of the evening, many in the stands had difficulty keeping their vision off
of the rider picking his way through the field with a unique flare. An unbelievable holeshot was captured by the Peabody native, as the short stature allowed the Geico Honda to propel the Honda to a bliss- ful pace. Tearoff’s being pulled briskly, the swift move was motioned with authority, as he calculated the on-off in the rhythm lanes with exactitude. The pure aggression in his demeanor was apparent, even with the full-face helmet disclosing his facial expressions; the 250f bouncing off the rev limiter in every instant possible, and his launch- ing of the single into the flatland was spectacular; shifting up prior to take-off, and pogoing as far as possible. Throughout a valiant effort, he would come across the stripe in a respectable sixth place.
