>> Although known as an outdoor specialist, Jeremy Martin is look- ing to regenerate his buzz across the rugged frontier, and bring it into stadiums and venues across the country. With the events tran- sitioning into a timed format this year, those with adequate stamina are sincerely thanking the officials and sanctioning committee for allowing their heart rate threshold to surpass those who flounder
at the thought of their VO2 max. And as the gate fell for round two, there was no lack of adrenaline pumping through each specific competitors veins; and unfortunately, an overflow of sorts would occur for the number six. With a dump of the clutch, the Minnesota native slammed into the gate before its complete drop, resulting
in the field storming away. Clanking through the gearbox down
the start straight, the pack scurried across the stripe, with Jeremy having to muster all he could in a short amount of time. Martin, maneuvering in synchronous harmony with those around him, his eyes quickly zeroed in and focused on the path that lay before him. Each lap was a matter of points paying positions, and he wasn’t stopping until he was literally forced too by the officials at race end. Plowing through the whoop section, Martin’s rear end seemed to dance lap after lap, however, rather than shying away, the Geico Honda pilot would click up and prepare to ride the bucking bronco until he either turned or ate the soil. His effort would be rewarded when crossing the stripe for the last time with a hard-fought sev- enth place; and although not crazily ecstatic, he would live to ride another day and strive for a win at the next round.
