>> Woodstock KTM’s Daniel Herrlein snuck just inside the top ten with a ninth place qualifying time when practice came to a close in Grand Rapids. The heat race didn’t go as planned for the Ohio na- tive of Daniel Herrlein as he ended up finishing ninth, forcing himself into a trip to the LCQ in the process. Although being in the LCQ is always a nerve wracking affair, Herrlein handled it with utmost com- posure as he pulled the hoelshot and never looked back. On a night where the track was just as challenging as any competitor, the extra seat time could not have been a negative for the Ohio native heading into the main events. The mains were a bit up and down for the KTM rider as he didn’t give himself good starting positions due to qualifying through the LCQ. Herrlein bounced around just inside the top ten in the first main event, eventually coming to finish in seventh position as he made some moves late in the race. The second main event was a much more consistent performance as he started in seventh position and finished in exactly the same spot, swapping places with Gared Steinke on the last lap after he had moved up to sixth. He’ll be looking to improve his heat race performance in Baltimore to give him a better starting position in the main events.
