>> Josh Grant got a great opportunity to fill in on the Monster Energy Kawasaki team. Getting to ride under the semi has been
a good experience for the veteran rider. Looking for improvement at each race, the Kawasaki rider started his season off on a high note finishing within the top ten in a solid ninth place spot. Working to carry that momentum into round two, Grant was fighting the cra- zy amounts of rain that California got this week forcing the rider to get minimal seat time before San Diego. The #33 Kawasaki rider began his night a little rough finishing twelfth in his race. Unsatis- fied with that result Grant charged hard in his semi placing a well deserved second place. The main event didn’t reflect the results
of his semi, getting a decent start Grant was around fifteenth near the back of the pack. With a lot of room to fight forward, Grant pushed hard to work his way towards that top ten. A few minutes into the race Grant was able to make a few passes moving him up to thirteenth. He began to put the heat on the riders in front of him hoping he could find an open window to make some more passes. Webb made a mistake moving Grant up another position. Know sitting in twelfth with less then half of the clock remaining on the race, Grant was riding smart trying to move forward, but without any mistakes. As the time ran out on the race Grant was able to move up another position into eleventh where he crossed the fin- ish line. Not as good as his ninth place finish a week ago, but still a good start to a very long season.
