>> Gannon Audette has faced some tough battles during this east coast series. Comfortably back on his original team from last year, Kissimmee Motorsports/Legends and Heroes Kawasaki, Audette was looking to earn a top ten finish like last years’ east coast series. Not having quite the luck he wanted placing in 16th in both Minneapolis and Toronto and 14th in Atlanta it looked like it was going to be a tough season for Audette. Staying positive like the Gannon we know; he persisted and looked forward to this weekend’s race. Qualifying in a mediocre position, Gannon went onto heat race number 2 sitting 9th on the line. Mid pack out of the gate the Kissimmee Motorsports rider fell back to 13th. Going onto lap three Audette makes the pass on Milson. Gannon gains another two positions, sliding past both Tucker and Merriam. Rid- ing in 9th position Audette pushes on trying to close the gap on Locrucio. Checkered flag and Gannon gets the last transfer spot to the main event at the Daytona International Speedway. Happy to have made the main event Gannon takes the 17th gate on the line for the start. Shooting off the line, Audette squeezes into 10th for the holeshot. Gannon settles into 12th place for lap 3. Only .01 seconds behind Dakota Alix, the Kissimmee Motosports rider tries to take the 11th position. Geico Honda Rider Christian Craig takes Gannon victim and steals the 12th spot. Audette fights back and takes his 11th spot crossing the line in that position earning his best career finish in the East SX Series.
