>> The East SX Series has been a constant rollercoaster for Geico Honda rider Christian Craig. Starting off in Minneapolis with a rough 12th place finish, to Atlanta where he suffered a concussion, and finally To- ronto where he finally redeemed himself earning a well-deserved podium finish. Tied 12th for points and looking to improve even more, Craig came to Daytona more than prepared after spending not only this past week in Florida, but also time this past year getting used to the soft soil that the east coast offers. Feeling confident after qualifying in a top ten position; Christian was ready to take on the tough track conditions that Daytona had to offer. Having fourth gate pick in heat number 2, Craig storms out towards the front taking a tight inside line gaining 2nd position for the holeshot. Trailing behind Martin, Craig glides through the sand, dirt and clay on his Geico Honda with ease. With Harrison on his heels, Craig doesn’t let off the throttle. Also, trying to gain ground and catch up to Alex Martin. Holding his line the entire race the Geico Honda rider passes the finish line in second place. Happy and looking forward to the main event; Craig sits 4th on the gate. Getting pinched to the inside, Craig is forced to the back of the pack. Christian battles in the back of the pack in 18th trying to gain positions to earn a solid finish. Not holding back, Christian powers through the crowd picking off one rider at a time. Gaining five positions Craig battles with Anthony Rodriguez for the 13th spot. Finally making the pass in lap 9 Craig chases down Gannon Audette as well
and lands in 12th. Falling victim to the rough Daytona conditions Craig settles back into 14th as he crosses the finish line. Definitely not the end result the Christian Craig was looking for, but knowing his attitude, perse- verance, and talent in this sport there is no doubt that Craig will bounce back and learn from his race at the Daytona International Speedway.
