>> Jesse Wentland came swinging into the east coast series earning 11th place at the first race in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Wentland was eager and ready to take on this years’ racing. After a tough break in Atlanta ending in 17th, the TiLUBE Honda racer redeemed himself last weekend in Toronto placing in 13th. Jesse was ready to improve even more heading into the Daytona International Speedway for round number 4 of the East SX Series. After having an alright qualifying time Jesse was placed seventh on the line for heat race number one. Going into the first corner Wentland fell back to 10th and was mid pack for the holeshot. Weaving in and out the first couple laps Jesse holds onto 9th. Passing Thompson in the last lap the TiLUBE Honda racer earns one more spot and ends up in 8th and he transfers onto the main event. Wentland earns the 16th gate pick on the line for the start. Staring down the start, Jesse powers through the pack gaining two spots up from his gate pick. Jesse falls back one position into 15th as Anthony Rodri- guez and Luke Renzland Battle for 13th. Wentland falls back a dramatic five places as the harsh conditions of the Ricky Carmichael Designed track takes advantage of him. Lap 7 of 15 and the TiLUBE Honda rider is in 18th trying to recover those lost positions. Jesse perseveres and starts to gain all the way back to 15th. Not backing down Jesse soars over the finish line in 15th. Not Jesse’s best finish, but it’s also not his worst. Seeing Jesse’s finishes over the past couple rounds it’s safe to say that he’s looking to improve and that he is definitely one to keep an eye on this season.
