KILPATRICK
MATTHEW LEBLANC
After making his Star Racing Yamaha debut in the Super- mini class at Monster Energy Cup, Matthew LeBlanc has showed solid speed as a member of the bLU cRU. He finished every single one of his classes on the overall podium at the Thor Winter Olympics and he only narrowly missed out on a race win behind Jett Reynolds at the MEC in Las Vegas. LeBlanc has proven that he has the potential on the Yamaha, but he’s yet to find consistent winning ways yet in the Supermini class. The Louisiana native wasn’t able
to secure the necessary starts in his heat races to put him
in position to fight for the win, but he still managed a pair
of top five finishes in order to earn decent gate picks for the main events. Unfortunately, the Yamaha rider wasn’t able to seize the first lap opportuni- ties that he needed to in order to challenge for the victory. A mediocre start in the Super- mini 1 class produced a fifth place finish and an opening lap crash in the Dominator class held him back to a tenth place finish. LeBlanc’s talent and speed definitely suggest
a different pair of results and it’s likely that he’ll bounce back in a big way when the spring nationals kick off.
