HAIDEN DEEGAN
Haiden Deegan closed out the 2017 racing season with success and style, clinching the first ever Loretta Lynn’s National title for the Deegan family as well as a couple of championships from the Thor Winter Olym- pics. The Orange Brigade backed KTM rider is leaving behind the 65cc machine and focusing solely on the 85 in 2018 with the Monster Energy Amateur Supercross being the first major race that he’s doing so. The Team Dunlop Elite rider looked typically stylish, aggressive, and fast in his first practice session and he was able to carry that swagger into the heat race. He found himself in a battle with his Team Dunlop Elite teammate, Ryder DiFrancesco, and Danger Boy took a second place finish to set him up for the main event. He got pinched out on the inside of the start straight and ended up way back in the field, but he did his best to fight his way back towards the front. Deegan was able to charge back to eighth position after sitting practically last place, but the start held him back from achieving his podium hopes.
