MAX VOHLAND
LANNAN
The 2018 SXA season opener at Angel Stadium in Anaheim provided some ups and downs for Team Dun- lop Elite’s Max Vohland. The Orange Brigade backed rider came away with two podiums, but a couple of mistakes in the Supermini 2 class forced him to the back of the field. He cleaned up the mistakes for the second round in Glendale and put together a consistent run of results, finishing all three of the Supermini main events in either first or second position. The Californian set the stage in his respective heat races, earning two second place finishes as well as a win, building his confidence for the main events. In the Supermini 2 class, Vohland lost out to his Team Dunlop Elite teammate, Jett Reynolds, in the main event as they battled for the win, eventually finishing second place. Nonetheless, he made up for his shortcom- ings in the AMSOIL Dominator Supermini class as well as the Supermini 1 class, beating the Kawasaki of Jeremy Ryan to the top step of the podium on both occasions.
