THE MOTOPLAYGROUND RACE
at Ponca City
The first running of The Motoplayground Race at Ponca City occurred in 2016, luring an eclectic bunch of motocross families from each corner of the country and everywhere in between to the Soon- er State. The event has quickly developed into one of the can’t-miss races of the season, combining national caliber competition with a grassroots atmosphere that throws it back to the early days of the sport. On any given evening in the pit area surrounding the racetrack; mom and dad are out next to the camper grilling up dinner, groups of kids are hitting mini ramps on their bicycles or sculpting their own motocross tracks, families are enjoying their time spent together at the track. It’s not about which training facility you represent and the pits aren’t segregated accordingly, it’s all about the memories made between families and friends over the course of the weekend. There are just as many box vans, sprinters, and pickup trucks scattered throughout the compound as there are motorhomes, RVs, and big rigs -- but that doesn’t mean there’s any lack of top-tier talent on the track.
