THE MOTOPLAYGROUND RACE
at Ponca City
1
COLE BLECHA >>
“Killa Cole” is a masterful young rider, hailing from the great state of Colorado. From the town of Fruita, his “fruit” is plentiful, in the gift of motorcycle riding. Built on household technique, his abundance of pure, outright speed is coupled with just a small bit of fear. Yet, he remains calculated, in his pursuit of race wins, therefore, hardly ever hitting the ground throughout race day. These attributes, have even the highest of pro’s in awe when watching him, studying just how well he moves aboard the motorcycle. And at the MotoPlayground Race, at Ponca City, his antics were no different. Placed in heat two, (of three) as a matter of fact, Blecha knew that there would be many riders contesting for the win. However, he was taught growing up, to focus on himself, and to have everything fall into place. And man, he couldn’t have done any better of a
job staying focused forward. With Darren Pine, and Zachariah Carmichael nipping at his tail, this young man would absolutely fly around this tough race- track. Nearly clipping hay bails at times, he was hugging the insides so tight, that his footpeg would be in constant dragging of the Ponca City soil. By lap three, his fastest lap would be put down, run- ning a two minute, eighteen second laptime. The lead you ask? Already out to a whopping, twenty seconds! He would put the machine on cruise con- trol for the rest of the moto, eager to hop aboard the line for the run-off, anxiously awaiting his chance for a title. With all of the players merging together, from the addition of another heat, it truly was a plethora of talent waiting to take off in the second moto. The totality of his skills would blossom, with an awesome holeshot putting him out to an early lead. With Wyatt Thurman shortly screaming down the back of his neck, he would have to remain focused, in order to keep the lead in which he once had. No trouble at all though, as Blecha would im- mediately up the pace and push until the checkered flag would come out. With Thurman all over his tail, there truly was, no hiccup or mistake demonstrated by the likes of Blecha. You see professionals on television, crumble all the time; yet a young man on a 50cc machine, showed the poise of some of the absolute greats, coming across the line to take the win. With his hands in the air, praising all who had helped him in recent times, it was Blecha sweeping the class under the rug, and enjoying his time on the podim. Cole is making waves throughout the amateur circuit, and hopes to keep the pace going in the months to come.
