Luke Renzland was pumped to return to action at Unadilla and he went out and nailed the fourteenth fastest
lap time in the 250 class. Everything seemed routine and going well for the Cycle Trader Rock River Yamaha
rider as he and the team anticipated the start of moto number one. In the first moto, Renzland capitalized on the red flag restart to come around the first lap in eighth place instead of thirteenth on the initial drop. He fought hard to take advantage of that better positioning but some riders would work their way by in the early stages. Nelson, Hill and Plessinger all got by pushing Renzland back to eleventh place by the halfway point. He tried to settle in there but once again some riders behind him would have a quicker pace and make their way around. He fell back to thirteenth but would go back and forth between that spot and twelfth for the rest of the moto. He would finally be able to secure the twelfth spot on the final lap to finish the moto.
