The fury was raging out of the eardrums of the number 51, steam pouring out the muzzle of his helmet. Barcia was bound and determined to get to the front, and his goals were met, as he took the lead from ET3 early, but was gobbled up by the number 94 in an instant. Overcome with intensity and adrenaline,
the two had worked their way around, and Barcia felt the company of an orange pumpkin lurking. With airhorns blasting in each section, Barcia attempted to use every ounce of crowd-fed energy to his advantage; however, it wasn’t enough to keep the 25 at bay, and he would fall to fourth, residing here for the remainder of the moto. All of the adrenaline in the world couldn’t keep the number 51 afloat for the beginning of moto two, as he sank in what seemed to be quicksand, and fell way outside of the top ten off of the starting line. Battling inside the top fifteen throughout the opening festivities, Barcia had to decrease the intensity level just a tad, and calm his nerves, before the beast known as Unadilla, claimed him as a victim. Climbing into the top ten with ten minutes to go, Barcia had his sights set on riders such as Freddie Noren, who sat just in front of him. The New York Giant would go on to finish seventh in the moto and fifth overall.
