Austin Camden’s first taste of victory in 2017 came in late January at the University of Phoenix Stadium as he took the win in the KTM Junior SX. His confidence was soaring as he headed towards spring nationals, claiming multiple podium results at Oak Hill before moving onto the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship and winning the 51cc (4-8) Limited division. From Freestone to Pala Raceway for the California Clas-
sic, Camden finished on the overall podium in all five of his classes, finding success in the 65cc ranks
as well. He revisited the KTM Junior SX experience at the 2017 Monster Energy Cup and came out with a third place finish before wrapping up the season with a second place overall at Mini O’s on the supercross track. The Cobra Elite rider has officially jumped up to the CX65 and has proven
his comfortability on the bike with
a couple of main event wins at the Monster Energy Amateur Supercross rounds in January.
NATHAN HUMMEL
Nathan Hummel stayed consistent throughout the 2017 season, collect- ing podium finishes from Millcreek
in March all the way to Mini O’s in November. Between the three spring nationals that he contested, Hum- mel racked up six podium finishes and collected one title in the 51cc (7-8) class at Oak Hill, putting him
in good standing heading into the second half of the season. He hit the deck at Loretta’s and was forced to call it a week before things really got started, but Hummel was determined to redeem himself at the last couple races of the year. He put together two podium finishes at the Baja Brawl, two more at The Motoplayground Race at Ponca City, and he found the top step of the podium at Mini O’s in both supercross and motocross. The Cobra Elite rider had an exceptional run on his CX50FWE at the end of the 2017 season and he’ll be raring to go on the CX65 as the 2018 racing season gets underway.
