RYDER DIFRANCESCO
Not many racers leave the battle- grounds of Daytona with no blem- ishes on their armor, but that’s exactly what Ryder DiFrancesco did at the Ricky Carmichael Amateur SX this year. The Team Green Kawasaki rider reigned victorious in all three classes that he contested, winning the trio of main events in spectacular style. The Californian sealed the third champion- ship with a swift fist pump over the finish line jump and turned his focus towards Spring A Ding Ding. It was turning out to be another flawless dis- play from the Team Dunlop Elite rider at Underground MX, winning the first five motos that he contested. Unfortu- nately, he wasn’t able to keep up the winning streak as he crashed in the second 85cc (9-12) moto, dislocating his thumb in the process. Although
it sidelined him for the remainder of the day, DiFrancesco still managed
to capture a number one plate in the Mini Sr. 2 division. After popping his thumb back into place, the Kawasaki rider moved onto Freestone where
he won five individual motos and col- lected two number one plates, com- bining for a total of six championships throughout the month of March.
CHANCE
HYMAS
Chance Hymas put his best foot forward in the 85cc (9-12) class at Daytona RCSX, showing superior speed in both races on his way
to an overall podium finish. The Kawasaki rider scored a third place in his heat race and managed to improve one position in the main event, battling to a second place finish after leading for the first por- tion of the race. Although he wasn’t able to find the same speed in his other classes, Hymas regrouped
at Underground MX for Spring A Ding Ding, earning three number one plates and six top three moto finishes. In addition to his success on the KX85, the Idaho native dabbled in the Supermini class and scored two fourth place finishes against some serious competition. Hymas didn’t back down at all when the action moved to Freestone for the JS7 Freestone Spring Champi- onship, putting his Kawasaki in the top three a total of four more times, including a moto win in the 85cc (9-12) division which contributed to a second overall.
