MASON GONZALES
Apart from a DNF in the 250 B class at Spring A Ding Ding, Mason Gonzales put together an impressive collection of results at Underground MX over
the course of the three day event. The Floridian found his form in both 450 B and Schoolboy 2, making his way to the podium in both classes. He looked especially comfortable in the Schoolboy 2 class, winning his opening moto after pulling the holeshot and disappear-
ing at the front of the pack. The EBR Performance backed Yamaha rider had a little bit of a mishap in the second moto and only managed to score a third place overall result, but his consistency paid off in the 450 B class to award him another overall podium. A couple of days later at the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship, Gonzales showed the same intensity in his heat races; scoring a second and third place in 250 B and Schoolboy 2, respectively. Although he didn’t repeat the same results in moto two, the Yamaha rider proved that he possesses top five speed and he’s capable of finishing up front when every- thing falls into place.
LANDIN PEPPERD
Landin Pepperd had his fair share of ac- complishments throughout the weekend of racing at Spring A Ding Ding, but the most notable achievement was easily the number one plate that he earned in the 65cc (10-11) class. The Alaskan was fast every time he hit the track, especially in the 65cc classes, scoring five podium finishes which included a pair of moto wins. In addition to the golden number one plate he was awarded, Pepperd also received a second place tro- phy for finishing up front in the 65cc (7-11) class. The JS7 Freestone Spring Champi- onship was the next obstacle for the KTM rider and he took it head on, displaying
the same speed that he showed at Under- ground MX. Pepperd’s best finishes came in the form of a fourth place in the 65cc (7-11) class and a third place in the (10-11) division, but a mixed bag of results wouldn’t provide him with an overall podium. None- theless, his pace was on par with some of the front runners and he still managed to score three overall results inside the top ten as the week came to a close.
