JARRETT FRYE
Jarrett Frye was one of the most alarm- ingly impressive riders throughout the opening couple days of action at the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship. The Maryland native was coming off of
a couple top results at Mini O’s aboard a KTM, but it was unclear where he would fit in after making the switch to the Bar
X Motorsports Suzuki team for the 2018 season. Frye produced a dream start on his custom RM125, winning both of his heat races in a dominant disappearing act from the front of the pack. Frye was motivated and confident for the second motos, but things didn’t go to plan when the gate dropped. Poor starts and bad luck held him back from fighting up front and unfortunate circumstances forced him into a DNF in the Schoolboy 1 class. Although his overall results didnt repre- sent his true potential, the Suzuki rider put forth one of the standout perfor- mances at the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship and should be on every- one’s radar heading into the rest of the 2018 season.
TANNER STACK
Tanner Stack’s speed was no question throughout the multiple spring events that he contested throughout the month of March, racking up multiple podium finishes and a couple of wins to boot. The Kansas native earned six podium finishes between three separate events and rarely strayed too far from the top five, but inconsistent starts hindered him from finding the overall podium more often. Stack looked incred- ibly comfortable in his heat races at the Daytona RCSX, wrapping up second and third place finishes with relative ease,
but he wasn’t able to do the same on the second day of racing after a mistake and a poor start cost him a chance at the overall podium in both classes. The following weekend at Spring A Ding Ding brought on a pair of exceptional results for the EBR Performance backed Yamaha rider, pro- ducing two second place overall finishes after some incredibly close battles with Enzo Lopes. The JS7 Championship at Freestone provided the last battleground for the rider out of Kansas and his speed was there all week long, but his starts
put him at too much of a disadvantage to break away with the podium contenders.
