ALEX MARTIN
Since turning professional in 2008 Alex Martin has consistently improved his results. 90% of the time when we see a rider that is going to preserver in the sport they usually start their career off strong
as a rookie and keep the ball rolling, so to see Alex Martin hitting the peak of his career 8 years after
he started is unbelievable. The only factory support Big Al has received prior to 2016 was a very short fill in ride with Geico Honda in his sophomore year. In 2010 A.Mart was backed by Eleven10 Mods aboard a privateer Honda with Darryn Durham. Although this privateer team struggled hard with funding (as all privateer teams do) they did one thing right, and
that was produce results. Eleven10 mods eventually became a Yamaha team with limited support from factory Yamaha, the team eventually folded and RockRiver Yamaha put a bike under Martin. The two gelled well together and with the right results they had him aboard again in 2015. Just a year ago was the first time we seen Alex beat his brother who was the defending champion in the 250 MX class. Rockstar Yamalube Yamaha liked what they seen in J.Marts older brother and decided to give him a 1 year contract for 2016 to see how he can do on one of the best bikes in the class. Supercross didn’t go so hot for the older Martin but he really shined in outdoors this year. He even held the red plate early in the season. Alex has done more than enough to get factory support for 2017.
