It was an overall good day for Martin even though he didn’t land on the podium overall he did get 3rd in the first race and he secured 2nd in the championship standings. A battle within a battle was won today for Martin and he has to be happy with being runner up in the 250 class. Alex seemed to be moving well in the first race, he was battling with Savatgy and Cianciarulo on lap one and got by the pair of Pro Circuit
riders to get himself to 3rd. Big Al eventually caught up to Oldenburg and if there was any rider to catch rookie Forkner it looked like it would be Alex. Kawasaki’s Joey Savatgy followed Martin around Oldernburg and kept the pressure on Martin. The #26 got passed by Joey with 18 minutes to go and was loosing ground to the riders he recently passed to get himself onto the podium. A.Mart was getting challenged late in the race by Webb, but Cooper came in to hot into a left hander and went down, Alex held on for 3rd. This was by far Alex’s best year of racing, could we see this veteran win a title in his 9th year as a pro? That would be amazing!
