JOEY SAVATGY
Joey Savatgy was the man to beat earlier this season. He racked up three overall wins in the first four races and looked to be the #1 contender as the series neared the halfway point. Unfortunately, crashes and straight up bad luck halted the Savatgy freight train and he found himself battling for only a podium position in the series standings. Joey really did have an excellent season as he did not finish outside the top ten all year long. Only him and Cooper Webb were able to ride with such consistency this season. Now, there is only one race left and Joey will be eager to finish it out strong. He still has a shot to take 2nd overall in the points and must finish near the front if he wants to make it happen. He has also been one of the most consistent Pro Circuit / Kawasaki riders in many years. Mitch Payton is assuredly very pleased with the young star and he has every right to be proud. His performances this year have moved him to the top of the class and he will no doubt be a title favorite for 2017.
