>> When you’re planning a pre-race strategy, coming into an event, the perfect scenario goes as follows: win every event in which you enter. Katie Benson took this plan to heart, and then some, as she made her presence known on the Lazy E Arena Circuit, solidifying herself as one of the top young women in the nation. Packing in her gate, rolling the tread back and forth behind that pristine metal bracket, she was in the zone. A quick fist bump to the mechanic was all she needed, as she demolished the rut that lie beneath her, and feverishly charge to the opening right hander. The soil was allow-
ing her to tread anywhere she wanted to, outside and inside through the first switch back, launching the rollers in the next lane with dyer intent. Giving
her suspension no room to breathe, the stroke was at times bottoming to
the floor. The tire scuffing the beneath the fender, she was truly giving the machine all it had! If there was an obstacle she could over jump, all the while keeping the throttle pegged to the fullest, she was doing it. In the end, it paid off, as she took a comfortable three-second win over Cami Samples, as well as setting the fastest lap time of the moto on lap five, with a sub 41 second effort! Round number two was much of the same, taking the green flag, as her orange blur soared through the air of the Oklahoma sky. Each lap, her technique seemed to adapt to the deteriorating soil, never budging an inch nor looking back at the trailing Cami Samples. She would remain strong, her team clapping in all sorts of praise as she rounded the last bend for the final time. She had done it, a clean sweep, putting her stamp on the Oklahoma circuit for the final time of the weekend.
