IMAGE / MPG WORDS / LANNAN DESIGN / WILSON
>> Cole Thompson is a common name in the world of Supercross. He has seen much success in American racing and is ready to show he has what it takes to be a contender for 2017 Supercross. Cole is competing in the East Coast region this year and has been looking fast. He spent the summer of 2016 clenching the 250 championship in Canada and was ready to see the success again in his home country on Saturday in Toronto. Cole was ready to re- deem himself from a poor finish the weekend before in Atlanta and it was easy to see. He qualified solid and was ready to do battle
in front of the home crowd. When 250 Heat 2 began, Cole did not get the jump he was looking for and crossed the line in 9th place on the first lap. Cole was able to gain a couple positions by the last lap but lost them in the last few sections. Nevertheless he would go on to the Main with a 9th place finish in the Heat. When the fi- nal began, Cole didn’t get the best start and then had to dodge the carnage just after the first corner. He was running 13th place and doing his best to keep the spot. His work was paying off as the riders around him were spaced equally apart and Cole was able to keep his pace clean and fast, lap after lap. On the last lap, another rider went down in front of him, giving Cole the 12th place position by the time the checkered flag waved.
