>> Adam Cranford lead a heated battle for the podium across the finish line as five riders were within the same sec- ond as they took the green flag to signify the first flying lap. Cranford was able to take advantage of some close, aggres- sive racing behind him in order to build a small gap in the lead. Hunter Schlosser worked his way from the edge of the top 5 into 2nd position over the course of one lap as Brandon Yates attempted to stick with the Honda just ahead of him. Schlosser didn’t take long to catch up to the rear fender of Cranford, but the Kawasaki rider was aware of the company and attempted to take defensive lines. Schlosser forced his way into the lead through the whoops section by simply lean- ing off the back of the bike and holding it pinned. Schlosser immediately started to pull away once he found the clear track ahead of him and Brandon Yates took notice, passing Cranford for 2nd place almost immediately afterward. Yates pushed hard on the final lap, but the gap was too big to make an impression and Schlosser claimed the checkered with an impressive charging ride through the pack.
