>> Carson Mumford secured the lead as the pack dropped down into the gator pit on the opening lap. He did his best to replicate his previous performances from the week, but he had to deal with immediate pressure from Seth Hammaker. The two of them gapped the field at an alarming rate as
they broke away to participate in their own battle for the win. Both of the leaders made a mistake on the far section of the course which allowed the rest of the pack to close back into contention. Jack Rogers inherited the lead momentarily as Hammaker and Rogers dropped back into 4th and 5th. The both of them fought their way back through the field, but it was Hammaker who was able to make some quicker passes as he put a block pass on Rogers in the land of motocross section. Once the Pennsylvania native took the lead, he dropped the hammer and set off into the distance. Mumford was able to make his way back into 2nd, but the Team Green Kawasaki rider already had one hand firmly on the check- ered flag, putting him in optimal position to take the overall come Saturday’s racing.
