>> Carter Halpain grabbed the holeshot at the start of the first 450 B race just ahead of Wyatt Lyonsmith and Zane Merrett. The EBR backed Yamaha rider of Halpain was determined to break away at the front of the field, but his fellow Texas native of Zane Merrett was eager to do what- ever he could to prevent that from happening. Merrett pulled along Lyonsmith through the whoops section and almost lost control of his KTM as he rode on the ragged edge in order
to promote himself to 2nd position. Halpain turned fast laps, one after another, as he inched away from the KTM of Mer- rett behind him. The two of them had separated themselves from the rest of the field as the gap between the two of them continued to grow as a result. Meanwhile, Garrett March- banks had to battle back from a start which saw him just outside of the top 5. He was able to move his way past Cory Carsten and Wyatt Lyonsmith on two separate laps, respec- tively. The Team Green Kawasaki rider didn’t leave himself enough time to attempt a charge for the other podium posi- tions, forcing him to settle for 3rd position. Halpain put in another masterclass as he led yet another race from the gate drop to the checkered flag and set himself up for yet another championship heading into the final day of racing.
