>> Jesse Shedden grabbed the holeshot ahead of Florida’s Seth Dennis and Mikah Carpenter. The three of them stayed within close contention throughout the first half of the open- ing lap, but Dennis was able to nab the advantage in the land of motocross section. The #930 Cobra rider began to build a gap at the front of the field ahead of the battle for 2nd. Car- penter worked his way into 2nd place around Shedden as the two Cobras launched their way off the finish line jump, but Dennis had already been able to build an advantage in the lead. The little Floridian was able to maintain his advan- tage as he controlled the gap from the front of the race. He sat firmly in position to secure the overall victory with one
lap to go as the battle for the lead closed up dramatically. It wasn’t enough from the Illinois native of Carpenter as Dennis was able to earn the moto victory as well as the champion- ship. Carpenter and Shedden rounded out the overall po- dium.
