>> John Grewe took his Babbits Kawasaki out to an early lead ahead of the Suzuki of Barry Carsten and the fellow Kawasaki of Matthew Crown. Grewe held approximately a
4 second advantage over Carsten as they crossed the fin- ish line for the first time, setting a blazing pace at the front
of the field. On the first full lap, Grewe put the hammer down and set the fastest lap of the race, building an advantage of over 6 seconds ahead of the New Jersey native behind him. Meanwhile, Earl May worked his way into 3rd place ahead of Crown. Grewe was on another level as he soared around the track with flawless precision, eventually coming across the stripe with a gap of over 11 seconds ahead of Carsten.
