the green flag to start the first flying lap. John Bowlin and Gregory Pamart did their best to stay in contention with the #70 Kawasaki in the lead, but the pace that Grewe had at the front of the field was too much to handle for his rivals. He rode with an abnormal level of consistency and calmness that made it seem as if he was on a practice lap. Pamart found himself in a tight battle with the Suzuki rider of Michael Stevenson on the last lap; he almost ate away at another position as he challenged Bowlin for 2nd place, but he came up just short at the finish line.
