KYLE WYMAN
Kyle Wyman has been one of the major surprises of
the 2017 MotoAmerica season thus far as the New
York native put himself on the second row of the grid
at Circuit of the Americas with an exceptional sixth place qualifying performance. The New Yorker had showed the speed all weekend long to run at the sharp end of the field, but a technical issue forced the team
to use a stock engine in the races, putting him at a significant disadvantage. He attempted to push through the adversity and ended up making a mistake that
sent him hurling into the air fence, but fortunately he escaped without any serious injuries and was able to line up for the second race, eventually earning a ninth place overall. Wyman continued to display his outright speed at the second round in Road Atlanta, consistently putting his Excelsus Solutions/Lucas Oil/KWR Yamaha towards the top of the timing sheets throughout practice, but issues with his bike setup would hinder his progress in the first race. He was able to put that result behind him and bounce back to a fifth place overall finish in the second race, his best result thus far on the new ride. Wyman’s confidence will be soaring after his exceptional performance at Road Atlanta, making him one of the perennial contenders for the top five spots throughout the remainder of the season. In addition
to his racing responsibilities at the third round of the series at VIR, his girlfriend is set to compete in the Miss USA Pageant in Las Vegas representing his home state of New York during the very same weekend, providing him with some extra motivation to do well. >>
