Hayden Gillim has experienced a difficult start to the 2017 MotoAmerica season by his standards. The twenty-two year old Kentuckian was forced
to compete on the 2016 GSX- R1000R during the first two rounds of the series while currently waiting on a multitude of parts to fully complete the 2017 model. Despite being on inferior machinery than the majority of his competitors, Gillim still managed to be competitive at Circuit of the Americas and Road Atlanta by scoring finishes within the top five in three out of four races, narrowly missing out on the podium in the second race in Georgia. The Cycle World Suzuki rider has done his best to remain consistent throughout the first two rounds in anticipation of the new bike and he’ll undoubtedly make some major improvements to his race pace when he gets his hands on the new kit for
the third round of the series at VIRginia International Raceway. He left VIR with a pair of fourth place finishes in 2016, proving that he’s capable of fighting
for the podium at the 2.25
mile circuit. Gillim is ready to make another step forward
in congruence with the new machinery in an attempt to earn his first podium of the 2017 MotoAmerica season.
