Bryce Prince has quickly adapted to the higher displacement machine after graduating from the Superstock 600 class last year as
the series champion. The Californian created fairly high expectations for himself after domi- nating the series last year with nine race victo- ries, but it’s obvious that the Superstock 1000 class is a bigger challenge. The Wheels In Motion/Western Services/Meen Yamaha rider has made consistent improvements since
the first round of the season at Circuit of the Americas. He accumulated nineteen points as a result of both races in Austin, finishing sixth and seventh respectively, placing him sixth
in the points heading into the second round
at Road Atlanta. He was running fourth in the first race, but suffered a mechanical malfunc- tion that forced him into the pits. Prince was able to regroup in the second race in only his fourth competitive outing on the YZF-R1 by scoring a third place finish, his first podium in the Superstock 1000 class. The Californian will only continue to improve after making
the move from the Superstock 600 class as he learns the new bike and re-adapts to all
of the circuits, so keep an eye out for him to continue climbing up the results ladder as the season moves forward.
